4 Things Every New Gaming Computer Must Have – Part 1

February 28, 2024

When you are ready to purchase a gaming computer, there are a lot of choices to make. If you have an unlimited budget (congratulations) then you can get all the components you want and create the exact gaming rig you’ve always dreamed of. However, for most of us we have to make some trade-offs when it comes to what we are going to put in our gaming computer because we have to keep it affordable. For those who are ready to build your first (or 20th) gaming PC, here are the four most important components that you should prioritize.

CPU

Everything in your computer must be processed through your central processing unit, or CPU. This “brain” for your computer takes all the different components and ensures that everything has the power it needs to run well. You can have the highest-end components in the world but if you skimp on a CPU they won’t be able to run at their maximum capacity. Xidax carries the latest CPUs from both AMD and Intel with multiple cores and threads so you can get the best performance possible with no bottlenecks, ever.

GPU

The graphics processing unit (GPU) is commonly referred to as the graphics card. This is a critical part of every gaming PC today because today’s games are so graphics-intensive. Without a top-of-the-line graphics card you won’t be able to run your favorite games, or the ones you do run will be slow and glitchy and can seriously impact your gameplay.

A GPU takes the information from the game and converts it into a smooth, seamless viewing experience so you can relish every pixel of every game. The right GPU can also reduce what gamers often refer to as “lag”, or the delay in the game that can make it hard for you to keep up. While nobody wants to deal with lag, it’s especially critical that you can instantly see and react to what is happening in games like first-person shooters and multiplayer games. There are few things as frustrating as dying over and over in your next game of Call of Duty: Warzone simply because your gameplay is a split second behind your opponent while your GPU catches up.

A high-end graphics card is usually worth the high cost. Xidax carries the latest models from Nvidia, including the Nvidia RTX 3090 24GB GDDR6X for an incredible graphics experience.

In part two of this blog post we’ll cover two more items that you must focus on for your new gaming computer—the SSD drive and the RAM. In the meantime, check out the Xidax website to start building your custom gaming PC today and let us know how we can help.
